Joseph is a leading attorney in the country for automobile dealers, as well as, commercial real estate, banking, and business industries. Joseph represents motor vehicle franchise owners in dealership acquisitions and sales, manufacturer contract negotiations and execution, employment matters, floor plan and capital financing, shareholders agreements, manufacturer disputes, as well as business and estate planning. Drawing on more than three decades of experience, Joseph provides legal counsel for commercial real estate transactions including, acquisitions, sales, development, leasing and financing. He also practices in purchase and sales of businesses, executive employment agreements, and 1031 exchanges.
After graduating law school, Joseph worked together with the Illinois Attorney General, by judicial appointment, in liquidating fraudulent automobile dealers. Joseph also served his clients in estate planning and in representation before the IRS. He also served as a general counsel for a real estate title insurance company. Joseph came to Hardt, Stern & Kayne, PC in 2002 where he serves as managing partner.
Beyond his passion for the law, Joseph Kayne is an accomplished photographer. Joseph has recently undertaken wet plate collodion photography using an 8” x 10″ camera. He was awarded an artist in residency twice by the U.S. National Park Service at the historic Navajo trading post, Hubbell Trading Post in the heart of Navajo Nation.
